It all started with a wild idea about meatballs and a serious question about cow burps. We were obsessed with the fact that livestock methane is a huge driver of climate change and we wanted to do something about it. Our initial thought? Methane-aware meatballs. The name "Burp n Balls" was born, a little cheeky, a lot memorable.
But we quickly realised the real impact wasn't in the problem, but in the solution. We dove headfirst into the science and discovered the climate-fighting power of seaweed. This amazing sea vegetable, when fed to cattle, can drastically reduce their methane emissions. A lightbulb went off. Why not put this planet-saving ingredient directly into a snack people would love? The meatball idea was out, and the protein ball was in. The name, however, was too good to let go.

From a Crazy Idea to a Climate Mission
Our journey began not in a smoothie van, but around a kitchen table, buried in scientific papers about agricultural methane reduction. The concept was simple: if we could create a product that was both delicious and educational, we could empower people to become part of the climate solution.
We recruited friends, family, and anyone who didn't think we were completely crazy to join our taste-testing and mission-building team. Within months, our conviction grew from a spark to a fire. We weren't just making snacks; we were starting a movement. We decided to leave the meatballs behind and focus entirely on our seaweed protein balls. It was the easiest decision we ever made, and we haven’t looked back.
